Missing teeth can interfere with normal activities, such as eating and speaking, and make you feel self-conscious about your appearance.
At MK Periodontics & Implant Dentistry P.C. in Nutley, NJ, Dr. Mark Khaimov places dental implants to fully rebuild your smile.
So why should you choose dental implants?
Dental Implants Mimic the Function & Appearance of Natural Teeth
A Permanent Solution
Crafted from biocompatible titanium, dental implants can last 40 years or more when cared for properly. While you may need a new dental crown, bridge, or denture eventually, implants can provide a lifetime of benefits.
Improved Bone & Oral Health
Tooth loss has many side effects, including jawbone atrophy. When your jaw begins to shrink, a range of other oral health issues can arise. Implants are the only tooth replacement option that prevents the tissue loss associated with missing teeth.
Completely Restored Function
Unlike traditional restorations, such as dentures, implant-supported prosthetics stay firmly in place. With implants, Dr. Khaimov can replace every portion of your tooth, from root to crown, so you can eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
Take a look at how dental implants work...
The Three Elements Of an Implant-Supported Restoration
Implant-supported restorations consist of three parts.
The implant itself is the base for an implant-supported restoration. The screw-like post is inserted into the jawbone during implant surgery, and over the course of several months, it fuses with the surrounding tissue to create a stable foundation for your restoration. Next, an abutment is affixed to the top of the implant. Abutments connect the implants to your new restoration, which could be a crown, bridge, or denture.
Thanks to the advanced technology available at our Nutley, NJ, dental office, we are able to provide all of the necessary components in just one appointment when performing implant treatments like TeethXpress® and All-on-4.
